Non-Formal Education
Living is learningNon-formal learning is a non-formal, open and flexible system of lifelong learning that offers people the widest possible range of learning close to home, supports their self-development, formation into active citizens and coping with everyday life and work, thus contributing to formation of civil society and maintaining the community’s cultural identity.
Non-formal adult education enables the development of the personality, its creativity, talents, initiative, and social responsibility, as well as the addition of knowledge, skills and abilities necessary in life. Learning takes place in the form of courses, study circles or other forms suitable for learners.
Simply put, non-formal adult education means the freedom to learn regardless of age, previous level of education, social affiliation, and other factors.

The Estonian Non-Formal Adult Education Association (ENAEA)
The Estonian Non-Formal Adult Education Association (ENAEA) is a nationwide non-governmental umbrella organization that unites non-profit associations, civic associations and non-formal education training institutions aimed at provision of education.
The mission of the Estonian Non-Formal Adult Education Association is to raise awareness of non-formal education in society and to support its members in creating the learning environment necessary for the development of civil society.
Our main goal is to value lifelong learning in order to disseminate a non-formal way of thinking and develop the key competences needed to develop civil society.
The Estonian Non-Formal Adult Education Association believes that lifelong learning in Estonia must ensure that the needs of learners are taken into account and that participants actively participate in the learning process and ensure that all those who wish have access to learning opportunities.
